Release notifications (and release notifications only) for SRE will now be made in this thread. Feel free to subscribe to receive notification of new releases.

Only official releases will be posted in this thread. Snapshot builds will not be mentioned other than in the SRE support thread, but only if the snapshot build contains a significant change that users should be made aware of immediately. Regular development snapshots will not be mentioned, but those interested in knowing anytime a new snapshot is made available may wish to subscribe to one of the project RSS feeds.

Official v2.1.4 Build Released

08 Sep 2009: The official v2.1.4 release of SRE is now posted for download. This is a bug fix/monitor update release that fixes some bugs and updates all in season monitors to work with the latest data sources. All users of SRE are encouraged to upgrade to this new version.

* Remove the NASCAR monitor; the data source became unreliable
* Wait two hours after a recording completes before removing the manual record flag; prevent possible race condition.
* Update MLB monitor: support all star game monitoring
* Drop SSL only builds; see install doc for details on how to force SSL connections now
* Update NFL monitor: support new data source format
* SRE server now properly reports itself in the HTTP user agent header when contacting remote web sites for event data
* Support JRE 1.5.x
* Fix NCAA football monitor: support new data source format

Official v2.2.0 Build Released

08 Oct 2009: The official v2.2.0 release of SRE is now posted for download. This is a bug fix release that fixes some bugs and updates the GUI with native IE8 support. All users of SRE are encouraged to upgrade to this new version.

    * Port the GUI to GWT 1.7.0; provides native IE8 support
    * Internal build process improvements
    * Remove database logging; all logs now written to sre.log in root install dir
    * Add SageAlert integration; SRE will generate SageAlert events when:
          o SRE is successfully monitoring an active recording
          o If an event SRE expects to monitor can't be monitored (game data not found) and an override is needed
          o Use of the SageAlert integration requires the SageAlert plugin to be installed

SRE v2.2.1 is now available. This is an event monitor fix release only and contains updated monitors for NCAA Men's and Women's basketball. Older versions of SRE will likely crash if used to monitor NCAA basketball, therefore all users of SRE are encouraged to upgrade to v2.2.1 immediately!

SRE v2.3.0 is now available. This is a monitor fix release that fixes all NCAA monitors broken in previous versions as well as moves all other monitors to the new ESPN "Botton Line" data feed for game information. All users are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version.

SRE v2.4.0 is now available. Moving to v2.4.x requires that you upgrade SageTV's commons-logging jar files. This wiki doc explains how to do it. Not completing this upgrade will render SRE inoperable. (It's rather easy to do.)

Key changes/fixes:

• Fix ESPN Bottom Line source parser (fix handling of escaped characters in data source)
• Retrieve global online maps from sre-maps webapp
• Move all events (including pro sports) to sre-maps for map data
• Move from java.net.URL to Apache HttpClient for reading web pages; allows proper setting of User Agent header
• GUI updates/fixes
• Allow editing of online global maps via SRE GUI
• Rely on proper version of commons-logging jars in SageTV's JARs folder

All users of SRE are encouraged to upgrade to this latest version.

v2.4.1 of SRE has now been released. This is a bug fix release that also includes support for monitoring of men's and women's ice hockey events at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. The User's Guide has been updated with the details on how to properly setup monitors for these Olympic events.

SRE v2.4.2 is now available for download. This is a bug fix release that fixes various time zone issues with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic ice hockey monitors. All users are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version.

SRE v2.4.3 is now available. This is a bug fix release that fixes the NCAA Men's basketball monitor by restoring support for the NCAA tournament.
