"Not Manual Recording" filtering doesn't work in SageTV's "Upcoming Movies" menu

Hi,

I'm using standard SageTV client with advanced UI (5309) enabled.

In the "Extra: Custom Menus" -> "Upcoming Movies", there is an option to filter the movie list. One of the filters is "Not Manual Rec.". I assumed it meant to not list any movies that have been recorded or being scheduled for recording. However, this filter does not work as expected: setting it does not remove any movies that are already listed in "SageTV Recordings->movie" menu. On the contrary, if I set the "Manual Recording" filter, all of the upcoming movies will disappear, suggesting Sage doesn't think any of the movies have been manually recorded. Other filters like "Watched" or "Not Watched" does work as expected.

If anyone has solution to this problem please share your solution.

P.S. In the "Upcoming Movies", the group option I used was "Date" and sort option was "Star Rating".

OK. I tried a few more experiments with the settings. It turned out the "Not Manual Rec." filter will only filter out the movies that are being scheduled for recording, and will not filter out any movies that have been recorded. In other words, the filter only works on movies marked "M" in the current menu, will not work on movies marked "M" in the "SageTV Recordings->Movie" menu. This greatly reduces the usefulness of the filter. On many occasions I found myself recorded movies that I have recorded before (but not watched), since there was no way to tell if a movie has been recorded in that list.

If anyone has solution to filter out existing recordings from the "upcoming movies" list, please share it.

This is not a problem with the filter -- the filter is for existing airings/recordings that are/are not marked as Manual Recordings. There is no option to filter future airings by existing recordings, but it looks like you figured that out in your 2nd post.

Thank you for the clarification. Hopefully this option may be added in the future, because I think it would be much more useful than the current filter as it is defined.

If not possible, at least using some kind of markers/icons to indicate existing recordings will be extremely helpful too.
