Core changes:

1. Press Home while in Standby to power up in the last mode used when the HD200 was put into standby. (i.e.: more quickly connect to the last SageTV server the HD200 was connected to, if it was connected to one.)
2. HDMI compatibility updates
3. PAL support added -- Advanced Setup -> Multimedia -> TV Standard; choose NTSC or PAL
4. Experimental RC6 IR remote support -- can use the MCE remote

4. Added Now Playing panel to bottom of file browser menu.
5. Fixed use of Play, Pause, and Play/Pause on the file browser.
6. Updated Play listeners to play video/music regardless of whether the item is the same as the currently playing item.
7. Removed restriction for Workgroup selection where it was rejected if it had any non alpha-numeric characters.
8. File Browser: can use the Info command on USB devices to access options such as copying the files on the device or adding the USB's root path as an import directory.
9. Added Detailed Setup -> Customize option Display OSD between Playlist Segments, to control whether the OSD is shown after playlist segment changes.
10. Updated font preloading to only load the Bold font sizes that are used. Skip preloading other styles for now. Also updated text for image & font preloading to show progress: "n of N".
11. Added imported video's Date & Time stamp to the Video Detail screen.
12. Fixed button BG image in search results menu.
13. Updated Audio & Video connector pictures with photos of the actual connections.

2. File browser popup: If Play File is an option, give it default focus.
3. File browser: if a file is selected and the only option is Play, play it w/o showing the popup.
4. File browser: if username + password combo is not correct, ask whether to try again.

3. Updated support for paged Google Video searches.
4. Updated copyright year to 2009.
5. The Multimedia -> Output Resolution list is now scrollable when there are many video output resolutions available.
6. Fixed jumping to next file browser item that starts with the letter/number entered while browsing network locations.
7. System Info: Info command causes "SystemInfo.txt" to be written to /tmp instead of the current working dir.
8. During graphics & font preload process, change message to "Skipping..." after Play has been used to skip the preload process.
9. OSD Options menu: show Subtitle Language option for video files if there are subpicture languages to choose from. Uses GetDVDAvailableSubpictures().
10. Fixed issue where using the Play command on a non-imported media file in the File Browser while another media file was already playing would result in a -12 error code failure.
11. Fixed issue finding video ID for YouTube Channel videos.

9. Using Pause or Play commands while a slideshow is active (w/o the overlay menu open) will also pause/play music at the same time.

To use beta firmware:
While using the HD200 as a Media Player (standalone mode), use the remote's number pad to enter the code 2382 ('beta') on the HD200's Settings -> System Update menu in order to tell it to look for the beta version. For help about how to update the firmware, see the HD200's manual (found in the box the unit came in) or this FAQ.

The above method is faster, but you can alternatively use that FAQ's "Recovery Procedure via USB Drive" using these download links, remembering to rename the files to match the FAQ's instructions:

Changes for beta version 20090609 1 include the following:

Core changes:

1. Improve seeking in flac files with index
2. Fix flac audio decoding for larger packets (file with very high settings still can't playback because of cpu resource limit)
3. Fix 5.1 downmix when using software decoding
4. Add support for forced subtitles (standalone or v6.5.17 & newer server)
5. Fix for network share browsing
6. Fix possible network streaming error case

When using the STP-HD200 as a SageTV media extender, it is recommended that SageTV server beta v6.5.17 or newer be used.
