Scroll through channels w/o changing channels, using arrow keys

A lot of remotes have the 4 arrow/navigation keys around the ok button. My particular remote is the firefly, but I'm wondering if Sagetv 4.1 even has this feature, & then I can deal w/ getting the remote to do this later. Instead of changing the channel, I want to be able to scroll up and down & right 1 to the next program(maybe w/ the arrow keys) through the small channel guide at the bottom w/o changing the channels. This is similar to how the dish (and other cable boxes) function. I hope I'm explaining ok. I'm not talking about the main large guide but the small guide pane at the bottom while still in full video mode.

thanks for the help.

This was the first thing I missed when I switched from my DVR to SageTV. Luckily, jbuszkie created a wondeful plugin for this: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15739

OK, I like it. There are some things I wish it would do, like let you input numbers to jump to a channel.

Also, can I still bring up the default guide w/ another button, other than going through the menus and bringing up the guide? Maybe I'll find this answer after some more reading.

thanks a bunch.

Yeah sure, this is possible:

Configuration:

At the bottom or right before the unsuported extras section of the detailed setup/customize there will be a configure button. This will allow you to:
1. turn off the mini-guide
2. Set whether to use the Guide button or arrow keys
3. Turn off all Icons in the MiniGuide
4. Turn off the Digital "D" icon
5. Turn off the Encoder number icon
6. Set whether or not the time/channel is reset every time you enter the guide.

Ok, it didn't immediatly come to me that using the arrows for the miniguide would allow me to still use the guide button for the full guide, haven't had time to set it up yet. Is this how it will work? If so, that's exactly what I want.

How about jumping to channels w/ the number keys in the miniguide? Hope that's not another one I missed.

btw-will the miniguide still work this way if I enable the beta features to try out the Malore menus?

Much appreciated.

edit:I read through the miniguide thread and found that the guide button will bring up the default guide if you set the miniguide to use the arrows. Perfect. I guess I should post my other questions about minigude in that thread, now that I know what it's called.
