Java version for 64 bit?

Just recently, I started having an issue that I believe may be related to plugins and maybe Java version (metadata losing season / episode and keeps adding the show name to the beginning of the episode name and web interface not loading it's template engine so I can't access some of the advanced tools) and am wondering what the target version of java is for Sage and it's plugins?

I am still at Java 1.8.0_211-b12 64 bit. What version should I be using?

Thanks!

I used the one that came with the SageTV install.jre1.8.0_191 but any 1.8 should be ok.

Thanks.

It turns out that I set an option in one of the metadata tools that appears to be buggy and is causing the problem. I went through all of the metadata setting options and found one that I had toggled a little while back. As soon as I told it to not automatically update the database with .my files it went back to working as expected :-).

What about alternative versions of java? I don't want to use Oracle issued verson. I prefer openjdk. Sagetv seems to not recognise when java is installed other than the auto download included by the installer. This applies only on Windows version. On Linux I can use the openjdk version without incident.
