Has anyone tried the new open source version of SageTV?

That's good to hear. I've not looked into it in any real detail yet but (other than the lack of licensing) what improvements/benefits have you seen?

Cheers,
Adrian

I think the only functional benefit is the new Youtube plugin only supports progressive downloading with V9.

If you are using Linux you can run the 64 bit version and have a bigger Java heap.

Thanks, early days yet then (I'm not an early adopter - the family would kill me!) but sounds promising.

Cheers,
Adrian.

I upgraded and it did not work properly with Gemstone on my Windows Home Server. Tried a separate Windows 10 machine; no issues.

If you have an older version of Windows I would steer clear right now.

v9 also has some database improvements (quite a bit faster, and far fewer spinning circle waits).
