DVB Decrypter & Card Client plugin's tester wanted

Hi,

I've recently developed a plugin for SageTV which allows to descramble encrypted channel natively within SageTV and I was wondering whether some SageTV's user from Australia & New Zealand will be willing to test this plugin for me and see whether it does work properly or not in exchange of my deep and sincere gratitude

Please look at the project thread HERE for further information and let me know if you need any assistance with the setup...

Thanks
Eddy

Eddy, I've had problems with the later oscam builds, including the one you include in the plugin with a message something like "card system not supported". I've never really had any serious time to investigate.

I use build oscam #6590 with my SageTV/DVBLogic setup. I'll try and find some time to look into it a bit more.

Hi John, to be quite honest I was counting on your reply

Please use your OSCAM distribution by all means, the only thing please make sure to have a copy of your distribution inside "../SageTV/SageTV/CAM" as my plugin reads the "oscam.server" from there and produces the right "oscam.user" and "oscam.conf" there as well.

Also, you don't need to uninstall DVBLogic or unregister the MDAPI.ax filter (I assume you're using this filter to descramble) as my plugin, as part of the installation process, will register the new filter and will change the Windows registry key entry to point to my filter DVBDCC.ax, but you do need valid SageTV .FRQ files, one for each of you tuner.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Cheers
Eddy

I did get to have a play with the current oscam build and found that I needed to specify the Boxid to get past the "card system not supported" message.

Unfortunately in order to use the current oscam version I need to use a recent set of cygwin dlls and I get slow ecm times when using them.

Old dlls:
1 stream ecm = 300ms
2 streams ecm =300ms

New dlls:
1 stream ecm = 300ms
2 streams ecm =600ms which results in picture breakup

Also had a play with using a raspberry pi as a card server
1 stream ecm = 250ms
2 streams ecm =300ms

I still plan to try out your plugin, but it's tricky matching my free time with time SageTV isn't busy.

Hi John,

thanks for the update.

You don't need to update the OSCAM in order to try the new plugin, just make a new directory called CAM under your SageTV installation directory, copy all your current OSCAM files there.

Cheers
Eddy

Hi John,

can you please tell me which encryption system do you have in New Zealand? Is it IRDETO by any chance? If so do you mind emailing me your OSCAM files for inspection at the address below:

edoardo [dot] rossi [dot] home [at] gmail [dot] com

Thanks
Eddy

John,

thank you very much, I sure have no problem with Videoguard here in the UK.

Hi guys

I am curious to know what encrypted services you wanting to test with?

Here is Australia there is pretty much only foxtel and the cards are matched up t the boxes now and will not work in anything else

I had mine setup with sage and a tuner card for a while before all the changes took place but since it has been back to the standard set top box

Hi,

I don't know about Australia, but I do know that in New Zealand you can watch Sky channels with a smartcard inserted in a card reader and OSCAM with SageTV and just wanted to know whether my new approach does work properly
