SageMC weather update?

Does this work under SageMC? I have installed as directed and can't figure out how to enable.

You may be the last surviving SageMC user - look into Gemstone.

I'm still alive as far as I can tell!
Tried Diamond, then Gemstone. Too complicated, messy and all over the place for me. Not sure if I can pin protect some folders, etc..
Maybe if I talk the time they might do, but my SageMC works exactly like I want and how my wife understands it, so I'll likely remain on SageMC until I change my PVR server software altogether.

I still use sagemc with all my mvp's. I just turned off the weather. Works just fine.

I'm with Eric3a on this; WAF is quite high with SageMC. I've been looking at Gemstone but I can't seem to get it easily to look acceptable to "She who must be obeyed"!

I'll keep at but will post my travails in the Gemstone forum.

iPhone for weather.

Same here...switched for a couple days and the whole family complained. They find SageMC is just easier to use.

We are always open to discuss changes to Gemstone to broaden the appeal to more users so wherever you can detail some specifics that would bring a MC user over to Gemstone we can discuss how we get there !

I held on to SageMC for a long time and ran it under Sage7 for quite a while. I finally changed after Diamond was released and was developed from a minor UI enhancement to more of a UI replacement. I came from a background of using WinXP MCE and SageMC was (obviously) patterned after that.

There are more menu items and there is one other major difference. In SageMC Videos were primarily organized by folders. With Diamond you were forced to organize by metadata as Browsing by Folders went away. But with Gemstone you do appear to have the option to use this if you want - but I would advise against it. Having proper metadata allows you to do much more with filtering, etc.

There are also other benefits from the new UI such as being able to integrate Netflix and other online content, better Fanart options such as Video Walls, browsing by banners for TV shows, etc. That is now even more advanced with the inception of Gemstone.

SageMC ideas and thoughts for Gemstone

Please, if you have any ideas or favorite screens that you would like to see in Gemstone as a Flow post a screen shot and a brief description of what you like about it and are looking for. Maybe start a new thread over in the Gemstone area so we don't clog up the SageMC thread with this.

As a warning, we aren't really looking to rebuild SageMC here, just looking for ideas of screens that people would like to see in Gemstone. If there is enough interest in us creating a new SageMC based look or flow then we may add it to the list.

Although, it might be easier for me to just make a Gemstone theme for the existing SageMC V7 if you are just looking for a new look option.

No promises though, as we have lots to do already

really Id like to have a gemstone experience with a SageMC like recordings screen. This can be nearly done right with recordings and schedule widgets but the WAF is lost with the "press left to select widgets"

What key would you prefer to pick for the live widgets...watched is an option too.

As JOrton says we need screen shots and some details as we are not familiar with what you might be looking for.

This is what I miss. Notice the sorting button on the left that allows you to cycle through the different sorting methods instead of Options, squint to read, sorting, no the other sorting option, new popup with sorting options, not like that reversed, close, close, close, back to choices.

My wife won't let me change because of the recordings menu

Is there a way to do it on gemstone?
