I have a question. Am I the only one who likes a horizontal menu instead of the left vertical one?

I've been using Ortus for a very long time and the main menu is necessary for me even though what you guys have done is fantastic.

This is a view of what I'm used to. Just throwing this out there BTW. That is really the only thing keeping me using ortus instead of any of the other addons. Phoenix is awesome, but since external plugins don't work I can't use it. I really like what I see with Gemstone so far, but I'd use it exclusively if I could get a horizontal menu.

Try out the Metro style in the Menu Manager as it is similar and written by bialio.

We can certainly develop others over time too.

Hmm. I guess I need to quit being lazy and fix my main machine. The only one I got gemstone installed on was my new client. I'll check it out and report back.

Since this is a screen capture thread... As just a reminder, any image posted inline needs to be fairly narrow so a post isn't too wide to view in a browser w/o side to side scrolling. This post in the forum rules topic mentions keeping images within a width limit of about 800 pixels or less. Thanks.

Yes that is the Gemstone version of Metro. Hard to do the exact same menu when you have to take into account the widget real estate.

I honestly hadn't seen metro so I didn't know what I was supposed to be seeing. Thanks. So far everything seems to be working as it should.

Mods

I didn't like the lines at the top and bottom of the screen and so I modded things a bit with files from the tabs version of diamond.

If you want an option like that just ask for it, I may make a "tabbed" version as there seems to be interest

Plus you will have to keep making your mods each time we update the STV so tell me what you are looking for and I can match up the images/look and keep things uniform.

The main reason there is currently only one theme is I am trying to get down to 2-3 or three themes that have lots of config options rather than the 6-7 we had in Diamond. I just had too many to manage with Diamond. Every time I made a change I had to make a new image for each theme...

Ask for it here,
