Thanks for posting. As an fyi it did not prompt me to install Google weather plugin. I manually installed and all is well.

PS The new weather update is awesome!

+1 I had to check the message board to figure out why the weather was't working.

  1. Updated weather system to retrieve weather information from Weather Underground.
Am I right in thinking that Weather Underground only supports US locations? It certainly doesn't recognise Sydney, Australia.

If so, is there any way to go back to a weather system that actually works over most of the planet?

Sorry - scratch that! Turns out that although I had the Google Weather plug-in installed, it needed to be updated, which I did manually. And now, let me add my voice to the chorus - it *is* awesome!

Hello all, am running v7 and have installed the latest update through Setup > Advanced, but what I'm wondering is if it's possible to download the patch/update file so that I can keep an offline copy. Reason is, if I need to install the program from scratch, would prefer to have an offline copy in case the auto updater feature no longer works by then...

Downloadable Update: STV v7.1.9.11, 2012101601

The following downloadable STV update is available for v7.1.9:

New STV version: 7.1.9.11, file set 2012101601
  1. Weather: Check for item info that is not available & display N/A.
  2. Weather: Check for plugin version being up to date.
  3. Weather: Check whether weather alert has changed since last time alerts were viewed before showing alert icon on Main Menu's header.
  4. Weather: Added overview style extended forecast.
  5. Weather: Included weather stations in location searches.

You can either wait for the system message telling you the update is available or get it at Detailed Setup -> Advanced -> Check for STV Update.

The STV version will be listed in System Information as v7.1.9.11.

Note: This STV requires updated the "Google Weather" library plugin, version 2.0.1. The STV will automatically check for its installation and ask to install it if it is not yet installed. If you already have it installed, be sure to update the plugin -- the STV should tell you if it is out of date.

Andy, thank you very much for the update, I like the new detailed view

Not sure whether is the STV or the new API, but I've got loads of these errors in the log now. Is anyone having the same?

Thanks

I would say that either you don't have the updated plugin installed yet, or SageTV wasn't restarted yet after installing the plugin update.

Well, I updated the STV first, then got notification to update to the new whether API, which I did, restarted the server then got the error messages in the log, but this morning when the server was started as usual, the error was gone...will let you know if happens again.

Thanks
Eddy

Go to the plugin manager and update the Google Weather plugin.

I can't get it to update from Current ver: 2012031001

Also, I don't have any *.STV file just an .XML file. Something got messed up and I lost all of my plugins, data, etc. so I uninstalled and then reinstalled, and started adding the plugins back in. I have most of the back (including the Google weather) but it won't update the STV. It keeps saying it's updating from 2012031001 to 2012100501 and also says that the Previes STV update was 7.1.9.9, file set 201100301.

What's wrong and why do I have and xml file rather than an stv file?

There could be a problem with one of the plugins "resetting" the STV back to an older version. (I've made this mistake before in one of my plugins.)

Uninstall all of the UI Mod plugins then update the STV to the latest version. Then install the UI Mod plugins one at a time and check the STV version after each install. I bet you find that one of the plugins resets the STV to an older version.

Note that "STVs" have been stored in XML format for many Sage versions now, so yes, you should have a .xml file. The .stv binary format was retired long ago.

It's apparently the PlayOn plugin that resets it. Sort of disappointing.

I've got STV 7.1.9.6 2011110601 installed.

When I do "Detailed Setup -> Advanced -> Check for STV Update" it says:

An update is available to upgrade the current STV file set from version '2011110601' to version '2012100501'

'2012100501' is STV 7.1.9.10, not 7.1.9.11 which is the latest release.

Do I need to go to .10 first and then do another update check to go to .11?

Or should it be able to go straight from .6 to .11?
