Is it working on extenders for you? The interface is there, but none of the art (covers, etc) was there when I was messing with it last weekend...guess I need to figure that bit out yet.
I have it working on my HD300 extender working of my HP Microserver WHS 2011. It comes through with covers, fanart ect. as I know it from my WHS1 installation. I am setting this up as my test box while mt EX495 with WHS1 is running production keeping WAF high until I have fully figured out how to port SageTV, Playon, Momovies, ADM plugin ect. to WHS 2011.

I am currently copying over my 4-5 TB of movies onto my test installation to see how it acts under load...I will know more about that within the next 7-10 days...

WHS 2011/SMM 2.11 b2 - Working - YES!

1) The registry hack: I exported the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\My Movies] folder and sub folders to a reg file stored on the desktop. Using notepad, I opened the file and edited the My Movie folder path to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\My Movies] ...e.g. pasting "Wow6432Node\" into each path. I saved the file. On the desktop I doubled clicked the reg file and it uploaded into the registry. Using regedit.exe I checked that My Movies folder and sub folders now exist under Wow6432Node\. Don't know if it is nessecary, but then I uninstalled SageTV from the server, deleted all traces left behind and reinstalled the package. Subsequently, I installed SMM and SMM api. At this point SMM enabled but SMM api failed

2) Under SQL Server Configuration Manager ->SQL Server Network Configuration ->Protocols for My Movies I Enabled steeing TCP/IP. I then restarted the MM SQL service and tried to enable the SMM api again. And Viola!! It came up enabled and I am now able to use and navigate SMM
I used your technique above (but I did not uninstall Sage) and it work perfectly! Great post! Just in time for the weekend. Thanks again!

Finally completed setting up my new VMware / ZFS / Windows 2011 based server yesterday, and I can confirm that the above fix (registry edit plus TCP/IP setting in SQL) works flawlessly.

Now for some

Cheers,

Just wanted to say thanks to both teq and beda for the WHS2011 fix - without it, I couldn't have transitioned Sage to a network server environment, as I'd never want to give up SMM!

And for anyone who might be interested, I can confirm the fix still works fine with the latest software (My Movies Home and Essentials Server Solution (v.2.13b6) running as a backend on WHS2011, with client access for database control (via Collection Manager v.4.05b6).

Next step, auto-copy and folder-monitoring goodness!! (lol!)

I've tried multiple times and been unsuccessful in getting SMM working since upgrading to WHS2011. I made the changes above and the SMM API would load but I'd get an error message when I launched SageMyMovies. Since upgrading to MyMovies Home Essentials 2.14 PR4, I can't even get the API to load (I get an installation failed error.)

I've removed and reinstalled SMM. Any ideas what to troubleshoot?

I just did this again today with MyMovies Home Essentials 2.14 Build 2, and it works fine. You need to follow the instructions step-by-step.

I tried this again today and still get the SageMyMovies API failure. I can't figure out why it won't work for me. Here's exactly what I've done.

1. edited the registry to export from the default location [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\My Movies] and copied to the alternate location [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\My Movies]. See below for what I exported back out of the registry to confirm it's there.

2. Made changes to the MyMovies SQL Server Configuration Manager ->SQL Server Network Configuration in 2 places (shown below)

3. When I try to enable the SaveMyMovies API, I get the following error
Any ideas? How do I troubleshoot this? Thanks for any any suggestions. This has been the one lingering problem that has made me regret upgrading to WHS2011.
