Plugin: Complementary Metadata Tool (CMT)

Has anyone else started having problems with IMDB lookups since yesterday? Whenever I do a search (title or actor), it always returns 0 results and asks if I want to try another search. It was working fine on my system Tuesday night, but now I can't get any search results.

Is it just my system, or are other people seeing the same thing?

I'm running the latest STV with the latest version of SageTV 7 on a Windows 7 server. Haven't touched any SageTV settings/plugins for months so I don't think it's on my end (could be wrong though, since I don't see anyone else mentioning this on problem the forum).

Confirmed.

Also, the Sage Web UI IMDB lookup is broken, so I'm guessing something changed at IMDB.

Searching titles seems to come up empty, but some actor searches brings up a form of results. For example:

http://www.imdb.com/find?q=Courtney+Thorne-Smith;nm=on;mx=20

Actually does a search on IMDB for "Courtney Thorne-Smith;nm=on;mx=20".

IMDB have changed their search page to be "new and improved", so needs a change in the scrapper. I've had a couple of quick looks at it, but I need to have a decent block of time to brush up on my regex and work through it.

Thanks, JREkiwi. This is one of the biggest WAF plugins in our house. Often something will break and my wife won't even mention it; this one got immediate mention the minute I got home from work that evening. I took a look at the symptoms and guessed it was on IMDB's end and not something with Sage.

Thanks for confirming that we all aren't hallucinating. I just made a post over on the "IMDB Gone?" thread with the errors I was seeing when trying to do an IMDB search and that the Phoenix Core and Phoenix API's were the last updates I put in and it was definitely working before that.
With the confirmation that IMDB has changed their code, that confirms my thoughts that IMDB was working for a couple days since I installed those Phoenix updates.

Just saw the plugin update and tried to update, but it didn't work. It had the typical first line "Updating" but no second line where it shows the % done and whatnot. Just locked up the extender and I had to soft-reboot it.

Of course, at the moment this website is very slow too... maybe it's not the plugin, but the Sage servers?

I've only done a couple tests, but this seems to have fixed it!

pjpjpjpj: Be patient. When I updated it last night I also noted that it seemed slow. There was no progress % for about 10 seconds and even then it seemed to be downloading very slowly.
I just left the room and answered some Emails for a bit. When I came back it was finished updating. I had a recording going, so I had to wait a while before I could restart SageTv, but once I did that IMDB seems to be working again.

Jeff got the issue sorted with the hosting provider and normal operation seems to have been resumed.

This plugin keeps disabling itself on my server? cannot figure out why.

I see this requires the SageTV ui to run on the server in order to create properties files guess I never noticed that before.

I have seen it disabled following an update to some of the Phoenix plugins. I suspect it's a timing issue with how the dependency checking works.

It does need a UI running to create .properties files, but it will run with any UI that has the plugin enabled, it doesn't need to be the server UI

Ok no problem ... I remember now I always had it run on one of my clients... so never noticed that you need the ui to create property files. All is well now I did do a recent phoenix update.

Same thing keeps happening to the Upcoming Movies 2 plugin. I have had to undisable it every time. I had no idea what was causing it until now. It would be great if this can be fixed too. Thanks!

I know that is If I set the UserCategory on the Individual recording not the on the favorites. If I set a favorite with a User Category it will not show up in the property files. If it cannot be done because it is a favorite property no big deal I use your property files for almost everything renaming moving etc.. Maybe you can all it FavCategory

Your right, I always thought the favorite usercategory got applied to the recording. I'll have a look and see if I can do anything.

I'm already working on the CMT plugin to fix the IMDB person biography data, so I'll add that to the list.
