Explanation of Phoenix Fanart Support

This thread is to explain and for questions of the current phoenix/BMT fanart implementation/support.

First and Foremost Right now only Fanart Backgrounds are supported in MyMovies and no other fanart or metadata is currently supported.

MYMOVIES COLLECTION MANAGER IS STILL REQUIRED!!

You are required to install the phoenix api or BMT for this support. My package does not list it as a dependency nor will it. Don't expect fanart from BMT or phoenix to work if you don't have the appropriate plugins installed.


To toggle between MyMovies Background/fanart and Phoneix/BMT background go into Setup--->Plugins--->Installed plugins--->General section

from there find the SMM-API plugin and select it and go to configure. From that screen you can toggle back and fourth between each one.

Note that when it is toggles All scaled fanart is deleted and rescaled. So it can change it. If you are on a client you must also recache the fanart after scaling is complete (there is currently no way to know when it is complete as it is a background task.)

Ok, I'm actually trying to get BMT to work but I also saw I had Ortus folder and had FanArt (unless I F'd with something). I don't know how Ortus was there. Or is Ortus part of Phoneix?

Ortus folder is probably because you installed ortus trailers plugin. It won't be gathering fanart unless you specifically set that in the ortus API. Ortus is not yet supported but will be soon.

Hi, it seems BMT is only dowloading posters for the movies for me. So when i try to use the BMT/Phoenix backgrounds, there is nothing there (side point: a few i do have backgrounds, and most do show, some do not). Do I have to tell BMT to get backgrounds as well? Thanks
