Error Code using Recorder with DVICO Fusion

Happy Holidays to all.

I have setup a machine with a DVICO Fusion HDTV 5 Gold card and SageTV Recorder. I want to use this as a Network Encoder.

I have loaded all the software per instructions. When I play the DVICO software, I get audio and Video with no problems. When I run preview under Sage Recorder, it gives me the following error.

"There was a problem utilizing the specific capture configuration. Unable to configure the audio portion of the filter graph ErrCode=0x80004005"

I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything at least twice. I have changed every setting I can find and still get the same error.

Has anyone seen this before and/or can you point me to a location to troubleshoot? Any other thoughts are appreciated.

SageTV Recorder is a discontinued product that (as far as I know) has not been updated with new capture device support in several years.

The recommended way to set up a network encoder these days is with a second copy of SageTV Media Center running in network encoder mode per Appendix G of the SageTV manual. (You will of course need a second full license for this.)

Thank you

Greg:

I know it is discontinued but they are still selling it. Also, the Fusion card is several years old so I was just trying it out.

Thanks

Plus....

Recorder is $20 and Full Sage is $80. I thought at least I would give it a try.

I do agree that they should probably just remove it from the store at this point. It does still function for basic SD Analog capture cards, but none of the newer BDA based digital tuners. That said, in most cases, you're better off just moving the tuner to your main server and keeping everything together.
