How to ask Questions

I stumbled on this while browsing another unrelated forum.
I thought much of it applied to the questions in this forum.

Nice find. I think something like that should be on every forum, and be required reading for new users.

It's actually the best articulated reasoning for why people feel they get rude responses.

Though, I would argue that this forum is an exception in that the 'older' users tend to shy away from those easy, low-hanging questions so that the 'newer' users can get their feet wet helping people out. That's what I do anyways.

The article makes some good points but it also tries to make excuses for people being rude and condescending. It is *never* ok to be rude or condescending. Your mother taught you better than this.
